INSTITUTE FOR HEALTH LITERACY

Learn the roots of your health

Our Ethos

At the Institute for Health Literacy, our goal is to give individuals knowledge to navigate and manage their health through clear science and practical guidance. We translate complex medical and health information into ways people can strengthen their resilience, support their immune system, and make confident decisions for lifelong wellbeing.

Founders

We came together with a shared goal: to make health information clearer, more practical, and easier to use in everyday life.

As a forward thinking Nurse Practitioner, Hazel brings years of front-line clinical experience, working directly with individuals and families and understanding the real challenges people face when navigating the health system and their health.

Julian brings a strong background in research, with a focus on how nutrition, the microbiome, and metabolism improves immune health.

Together, they bridge the gap between science and real-world front-line health care. They take complex topics—like food, sleep, and the microbiome—and turn them into straightforward, relatable knowledge that people can actually apply to their day-to-day lives.

At the core of their work is a simple belief: when people understand their health, they are better equipped to make informed choices and take meaningful steps toward their wellbeing.

What do we offer?

The world of is full of health information. How do we sort out all this complex information?

Many people in our work tell us they are overwhelmed by medical jargon, conflicting advice, long wait times, and difficulty accessing care. Many are left to research their health alone without the expertise to interpret what they find.

We bridge the gap between complex medical science and real-world decisions.

Through our speaking events, we will give you knowledge and literacy to feel confident about building the right path for your health.
